Island Daze

we love oak island!

About Us:  My husband and I bought our home in 1999 and gradually renovated/upgraded it, mostly by ourselves and the help of friends (thanks Timblin, Geoff and Matthew!). Our home has been the nucleus of countless extended family gatherings over the years and we are so happy it has created long lasting memories for all our nieces and nephews.  We hope you too will enjoy the uniqueness of Oak Island while staying at 'Island Daze'.

Why This Property? In the early '70's my parents chose Long Beach (now Oak Island) for our annual 2 week family beach vacation every August and I've chosen to vacation here ever since! After considering many coastal towns in NC, my husband and I settled on Oak Island because of the low density development, mix of year round residents, second home owners and tourists, the clean uncrowded beach, funky local art scene, great restaurants, proximity to Wilmington and the natural beauty of the island.

Unique Benefits: The ocean breezes from the south facing beach, the ocean view, easy access to the beach, a grove of live oaks in our back yard which gives way to the tidal creek and marsh beyond, and countless reasons to be outside enjoying the beauty of this barrier island and its wildlife are just a few reason I love being at OKI and our house.
